Make a Child’s Dress

Get into the festive spirit by sewing a charming handmade dress just in time for the holiday season! In this beginner-friendly two-part class, you'll create the Corrine Dress by Oh Me Oh My Sewing — a versatile children’s pattern perfect for holiday gatherings, family photos, or gift-giving.

In Week 1, you’ll learn how to read and cut a sewing pattern, choose the correct size, and properly cut your fabric — essential skills for successful garment sewing.

In Week 2, we’ll guide you through the full construction of the dress, including sewing seams, attaching sleeves, adding a collar (optional), and finishing with snaps.

This is a great garment project for adults who have some basic skills and are ready to level up.

Students will source their own fabric and materials (a full supply list will be provided upon registration). The pattern can be purchased at https://ohmeohmysewing.com/products/copy-of-corrine-dress-pattern. The size range is from infant to 6 years.

This class is being led by Azzurra. She has been sewing since the age of 10, first learning alongside her mom. While her early experiences laid the foundation, it wasn’t until later in life that sewing truly became a joyful creative outlet — a space to slow down, work with her hands, and express herself through fabric.

Now a mom herself, she finds deep fulfillment in making handmade clothing for her daughter — pieces that blend love, creativity, and memory into every stitch. Her approach to teaching is warm, encouraging, and rooted in the belief that anyone can sew with the right guidance and a bit of patience.

She loves helping others discover the satisfaction of creating something meaningful — one garment, one seam, one handmade moment at a time.

Workshop Details:

  • Workshop dates: November 12 and 19

  • Workshop time: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

  • Location: 1577 Colorado Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90041
