Discover the fundamentals of sewing, including operating a sewing machine.
Our hands-on classes cover the essential skills you’ll need to start you on your sewing journey. A general outline of the class is as follows:
Week 1 - Sewing basics, supplies, getting to know the sewing machine, practice sewing straight lines, starting on your tote bag.
Week 2 - Continue working on your tote bag.
Week 3 - Make a custom pillowcase while continuing to practice sewing straight seams.
Week 4 - Zippers! We’ll learn the basics and make a zipper pouch.
All materials included in the class fee.
Suitable for individuals at least 8 years old or entering 3rd grade.

Before attending Intermediate Sewing, you must have completed our Sewing 101 class to ensure you have the necessary foundation or have comparable experience.
During workshops we’ll be making a variety of projects for the confident beginner/intermediate sewist, including a drawstring backpack, a strawberry bookend and an ereader/iPad case.
With each project you’ll add new skills to your sewing experience.
In intermediate sewing you’ll also gain confidence in learning how to read patterns, organize your supplies, and work more independently (don’t worry, we’ll still be here to help).
This is a great class to take to prepare for kids garment making classes.
