Intro to Foundation Paper Piecing - Saturday September 20
Learn the Basics of Foundation Paper Piecing
Workshop Description:
Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) uses paper as a foundation to stabilize the quilt block as it is constructed. (Yes, you sew on the paper.) The technique is used to achieve precise, small and detailed piecing, and specific or unusual shapes.
In the class, you'll learn how to read a paper-piecing pattern, about different papers to use as the foundation, how to organize your fabrics and cut pieces to size, and how to attach pieces to the foundation, flip and "press". You’ll also learn how to sew the completed FPP blocks together.
Basic sewing skills required.
We recommend that everyone bring the following for their own workstation:
Rotary cutter, small cutting mat, acrylic ruler (we recommend no longer than 12 ½ inches)
Add a Quarter Ruler Plus
Seam roller
We have the above available for purchase in the shop for a 10% discount for class participants.
We’ll provide everything else.
