In this four week series, we'll walk you through how to sew a fully lined backpack. Skills covered include:
Bag construction fundamentals
How to use interfacing, batting or foam stabilizer to add body and strength to your bag
Working with hardware
You can choose from the following patterns:
Noodlehad Making Backpack - A structured backpack that you can customize with either an outside slip pocket or zipper pocket - Regular or Mini version
Noodlehead Sandhill Sling - Sling style bag with a compact yet roomy design.
Knot + Thread Archie Backpack (Large) or Violet Backpack (Small) - a quilted structured backpack.
The Blanket Statement - Pembina Backpack - a less structured backpack with a drawstring closure.
We have samples in the shop if you want to come by before you finalize your choice.
Skill requirements: This is a confident beginner sewing workshop; you do not need to have any experience sewing bags, but you must have basic machine-sewing skills. Our Beginning Sewing class (or equivalent) is a prerequisite for this class.
Your chosen pattern and all supplies for one backpack is included with the class fee.
